A Short History of College.

Sahaspurcollege is situated in the heart of diamond triangle at Balichandrapur in the district of Jajpur, very adjacent to the NH 5 (A) landing from Chandikhole to Paradip. The place which has a rich cultural heritage Ratnagiri. Great cultural masters like SanthaArakhita Das, ParsuramBihari, Artist B.Burma, BirupaMohanty sultriest peoplespoel - BaisnabPani&Pallikabi Nanda Kishore Bal were burn in this area & made great spiritual & cultural & literary contributions to the life of Odisha.

Standing in the centre of the past culture, this college imparts education to the boys & girls very sincerely since 1978. It is affiliated to CHSE, Odisha&Utkal University for +2 Arts, Science &Degree(+3 course) in Arts & Science with Hons teaching facilities in History, Economics, Political Science, Sociology, Education in Arts streams.

The college opening with the subjects of English, M.I.L (O), Political Science, History, Economics, Odia (optional) & about of 64 students took admission in the every opening session. The college received Govt. concurrence for I.A in the year 1978. In 1983 B.A was opened. Some new subjects such as Sociology, Education were opened this year science in intermediate stage and new subjects such as Anthropology in I.A state were started in 1992. Honours teaching facilities began in Arts subjectfrom 2003 onwards and Science in Degree stage was opened in 2009. The Govt. Vocational Junior College is functioning as a separate wing since 2003-04 with Dairying & Computer Science.

The college building has grown over these remarkably. In the session 2002-03 this college has further received temporary Govt. recognition and permanent University Affiliation. This college has come under the preview of University Grands Commission under 2F and 2B since 14.08.2007 with three decades of striving for excellence in moral, spiritual & academic level, the mission has partly been accomplished. It is hoped that, the college will take long strides on the path of progress in the years to come and reach the pinnacle of glory as envisioned by its founding members

This institution started functioning on 16.08.1978with subjects of English, M.I.L (O), Political science, History, Economics, Odia. The college received Govt. concurrence for I.A. in the year 1979. Some new subjects such as Sociology, Education were opened in 1981. Degree classes in Arts was opened In 1983-84 & Honours teaching facility began in Arts subjects from 1991. Science at +2 was opened in 1986. & at degree stage from 2009. The college has received permanent Govt. concurrence & permanent CHSE & University affiliation for +2 Arts, Science and +3 Arts. The college has come under the preview of University Grands Commission under 2F and 2B since 14.08.2007. The Govt. This institution with 63th years of excellence in academic level has non reached a new horizon. It has well-furnished infrastructural facilities & is surrounded by green forestation ehich creates a peaceful environment.
